Pending cases hit their highest point in FY2021 Q1, in the middle of the pandemic: more than a million applications awaiting a decision. Since then the line has come down, and today it holds at 611,463.

Denials exist and are part of the full picture. They're few next to the approvals, but real: in the latest quarter, 18,054 applications were denied, compared to 143,564 approved that same quarter.
