What's new with humanitarian parole? Everyone asks us. Until now we had paused the daily parole approval reports because the statistics had not changed much. However, yesterday we had an explosion of approvals that broke the record for daily approvals for one day. And of course, we are very happy to share the numbers with our community.

Find out everything that happened in the second half of January 2024 and the first week of February in this blog post. As always, Inmigreat brings you the humanitarian parole statistics collected in our sample. Stay with us until the end!

How many applications for humanitarian parole were approved this January

The year 2024 started on the right foot. Recent studies by Inmigreat have shown an accelerating trend since November 2023. However, what's even more fascinating is the data we've gathered from the most approved applications each month.

By analyzing the dates of these approvals, we've discovered two peaks that repeat every month: one between January 10th to 12th, 2023, and another between January 23th to 25th. It seems that some offices are prioritizing requests between January 1 and 15, while others are working on requests from the 20th. This parallel system indicates a clear intention to process cases in chronological order.

During the second half of January, this trend is repeated, with the highest number of approvals in applications issued on January 11th, 2023. The number 11 continues to be the one of good luck for those waiting for their parole!

How many approvals are still pending on January 11th?

It's great to hear that USCIS is processing cases in chronological order, as this has been a concern for many people. According to Inmigreat Case Tracker, there are still 472 pending cases from January 11, and our analysts estimate that there are 6,039 applications still waiting to be processed.

Hopefully, this means that those who have been waiting patiently will finally receive the updates they have been waiting for.

Update of daily parole approvals to date February 5th

Let's plunge into the latest updates and unveil some thrilling news! Yesterday, February 5th, within our Inmigreat Case Tracker sample—boasting around 130,000 registered users—we witnessed a remarkable surge in approvals.

Among these statistics, 53% originate from January 2023, with a significant portion hailing from the 11th. Yet, this surge in approvals doesn't follow a period of weakness; rather, as depicted in the graph, January's daily parole approvals have remained consistent.

However, concerns lingered as January drew to a close due to the political climate in the United States, with parties jostling ahead of upcoming elections. Despite this, the breaking of the daily approval record at this juncture can only instill hope—undeniably good news. Momentum is building, and it persists!

USCIS: Will Fee Changes Affect Humanitarian Parole Approvals?

In theory yes. Or at least those are the agency's intentions. On its official website, USCIS has made clear its intention to optimize processes following the implementation of these new fees. USCIS has stated that the objective of these changes is precisely to address the stagnation in processing with new resources. The new prices will come into effect from April the 1st.

However, it's crucial to acknowledge that the United States is grappling with an unprecedented backlog of immigration processes, exacerbated by the significant immigration crisis since the cessation of Title 42. USCIS offices are inundated with backlogged processes that extend beyond the highly contentious humanitarian parole. Therefore, we shouldn't anticipate it to be a panacea for swift approvals; let's remain realistic and grounded.

In studies conducted in September 2023, coinciding with the launch of the Analysis Module, projections indicated that processing applications submitted in January 2023 would conclude by the end of November this year. Can this projection change? Absolutely! USCIS would need to boost daily processing capacity, a possibility that remains uncertain amidst the backdrop of elections and political battles.
