The approvals for humanitarian parole in recent months are on a clear ascending trend. We experienced a September with few processed applications, a takeoff in October, an exciting November, a December maintaining this acceleration, and a January 2024 that breaks records.

In this blog post, we will delve into the daily statistics of approvals for January 2024 to date, and we also have surprises! We have detected very interesting behavior in the humanitarian parole processing.

Now, we can reveal the truth about how USCIS is processing in chronological order. Keep reading to find out everything!

Average daily parole approvals in January

At the end of the year 2023, we noticed a trend towards increasing daily approvals in our data. And now, with the data we have until January 20th, it's clear that the trend is continuing to grow.

The month of January 2024 has broken a new record for daily approvals. It's interesting to note that in September, only 77 cases were approved daily out of those registered in our sample, but this month approximately 468 cases have been approved daily.

Looking at the graph presented, it's evident that each following month shows an increase in the average daily approvals. It's exciting to see that the Cubans and Haitians are now getting their turn!

Inmigreat Statistics: New Trend Uncovered

Besides the good news about the growing trend of daily approvals, there's another interesting behavior that we've discovered by analyzing the graphs of previous months. The chronological order of USCIS processing is following a specific pattern, which we've been able to detect through our studies.

In September, Inmigreat Case Tracker App reached a considerable number of registered users, which enabled us to start studying the sample we had at hand. Since then, we've been tracking the number of daily approvals each month carefully.

As of today, we have a complete stock of behavior graphs from September to January, and we've observed that the peaks of daily approvals are concentrated in applications that were submitted on two specific dates. These peaks are repeated every month, allowing us to predict which days USCIS is working on with almost certainty.

Which day sees the highest monthly humanitarian parole approvals?

In December, in our sample, we observed an explosion of approved applications submitted on January 11, 2023. And, parenthetically, we are proud to say that many of them aligned with the predictions Inmigreat developed using the Analysis module.

This January, we noticed again that many approvals were coming for applications submitted on January 11 of the previous year. So, we decided to take a look at the previous graphs, and what a surprise we found! From September to January, the highest peaks of monthly approvals have been for cases from January 11, 2023.

But that's not the only repeating date. We can see the trend that more cases submitted on January 10 and 11, and January 23 and 24, are approved. The most striking peaks correspond to January 11 and 24.

What does this mean? Firstly, this confirms that they are working in chronological order. For some reason, for at least the last 4 months, USCIS has been predominantly processing applications submitted precisely on these dates. A much smaller percentage corresponds to approvals for other days in January, and those cases from other months that are approved following a random order.

Why does USCIS prioritize these dates?

Why are applications from January 11 and 24, 2023, predominantly processed? Everything seems to indicate that before September, they were predominantly processing applications between January 5 and 10, 2023.

The two major USCIS offices are working similarly but with different starting points. Both offices are moving at a similar speed: the first one started on the 6th and is on the 12th (meaning it has processed 7 days), and the second office started on the 21st and is on the 26th (meaning it has processed 6 days). If we add that up, there are 13 days visibly processed in chronological order.

In 13 months (from January 2023 to January 2024), 13 days have been processed in chronological order. A much smaller percentage corresponds to approvals for other days in January, and those cases from other months that are approved following a random order.

Pending humanitarian parole approvals

Why aren't the days before January 10 finished yet? This question is quite interesting, but obviously, we don't have an answer for it. The truth is that there are still pending cases from dates before January 10, and there are even cases from Venezuelans who applied in 2022 still awaiting approval. On our part, all that remains is to continue monitoring the processes and tracking the vague clues that USCIS, like Hansel and Gretel, leaves behind.
